First impressions matter. A business card is often the first printed material handed to a perspective client, and the quality of the card needs to be a reflection of the product, as well as an extension of the brand itself. For Be Inthavong, LLC, creator of some of the most luxurious, high-quality silk-and-leather fabrics hand-produced on old-world looms today, the average card wouldn't work. It needed to be something elegant, tactile, worldly and as intricately-woven as the textiles themselves!
In order to reflect the rich elegance of the Be Inthavong brand, I adopted the trademark vanguard blue on a thicker, 34pt card stock. To give the cards an organic, tactile feel to them and truly set them apart, the matte-gold foil logo is flanked by a debossment of the heritage weave pattern, giving holders a grounded, real-world feel as they run their fingers over and across it.
The back is crucial in conveying the necessary information to establish a more personal link to the recipient, and therefore cannot be dismissed with a simple print of the usual channels of communication. The gold foil treatment continues, even here, with logo, company name, title and line elements all recreated in the same matte finish as the front. The rest of the copy is done via offset printing, giving it a sharper, raised and refined look that is heads above the typical printed appearance.
